Bioenergetics in the Quest for Better Vision
By Verena Vomastic, PhD

Poor vision has become a wide-spread epidemic in our society (http://www.aao.org/newsroom/eye-health-statistics). In addition to problems like myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), astigmatism (visual asymmetry), presbyopia (middle-age vision), cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye, and diabetic retinopathy, the digital age has created Computer-Vision Syndrome (http://www.computer-vision-syndrome.org/statistics/) which alone is responsible for over 10 million visits to eye doctors every year.
Once diagnosed with a certain condition, the commonly accepted assumption is that, over time, the eyesight impairment will only stagnate or decline, but not improve. Periodic eye exams typically result in progressively stronger prescriptions for corrective eyewear, and that’s considered normal. Vision care is a frequently neglected aspect of holistic healthcare.

The eyes, as extensions of the brain, are directly affected by life events, the environment, nutrition, and what’s going on in the mind. Inner vision and outer vision are closely connected. Myopia may be an expression of difficulties with letting go, whereas hyperopia may be related to issues with focusing. But unless we are working with a holistic optometrist or ophthalmologist, no time will be spent on exploring underlying mind/body connections that may be impacting our ability to see clearly and on finding ways to improve our vision naturally.
As NES practitioners, we are well equipped to help shift this paradigm. Using the Total WellNES System (TWS), along with eye exercises and conscious eye-care habits, we can help reverse the sentence of continuing eyesight degradation.
TWS Applications
The ProVision Help File for the two eye-specific Energetic Rejuvenators (ER-31—Eyes and ER-53—Retina) includes the following statement: Body-mind associations for the eyes suggest they represent our ability to see clearly. Problems are associated with not wanting to 'see' what is going on in a particular situation. Failing eyesight maybe linked to a longing to withdraw from everyday life, possibly due to a distressing environment or situation.
ER-31 and ER-53 are associated with Energetic Integrators (EIs) 8 and 10. Liver meridian (EI-8) is the primary meridian connected to almost anything concerning the eyes. Among the keynotes for EI‑8 are Vision and Eye Conditions, and more specifically Iris, Retina, Center of Optic Cortex, and Visual area of the Cortex.
Iris and Retina fields are analyzed by ProVision as part of EI-8; the Eye Lens field is assessed with EI-10 (Heart Protector meridian). The visual area of the cortex is part of the sensory cortex located on the occipital lobes of the brain. The Sensory Cortex field is analyzed by ProVision with EI-8 (Liver meridian) and EI-1 (Large Intestine meridian).
ER-63 (Cranial Nerves) includes the optic nerve, the second cranial nerve; it is also associated with EI-1 (Large Intestine meridian).
With the NES miHealth device, we can help to restore and maintain energetic balance in the primary vision-related energy systems and fields.
1. Follow the pathways of Liver (EI-8), Heart Protector (EI-10), and Large Intestine (EI-1) meridians shown below, using
miHealth functions like BioCell or Physical Rejuvenation from the Physical folder.

2. Treat ER-31 (Eyes) and ER-53 (Retina), respectively, using the miHealth in broadcast mode over the eyes for up to two
minutes.
3. Treat ER-1 (Sensory Cortex), using the miHealth in broadcast mode over the top and back of the head for two minutes.
4. Treat ER-63 (Cranial Nerves), using the miHealth in broadcast mode over the back of the neck and face for two
minutes.
ER-31, ER-53, and ER-63 are all associated with the Cerebral Cortex Hologram (CCH). The respective keynotes are Fear of Attack (for ER-31 and 53) and Danger for ER-63. To address eye and vision problems from a mind perspective, consider exploring relevant unresolved emotional shocks and working with the suggested affirmations:
ER-31: The world provides a safe haven for me to reside in and grow.
ER-53: I am at peace with my own feelings, feel safe where I am, and create my own security.
ER-63: I feel safe and secure in who I am.

Eye Exercises
Eye exercises are another way to support better vision; below are some suggestions to get started.
- To rest the eyes and relax the eye muscles, experiment with palming; it’s an essential element of the Bates Method (http://www.seeing.org/techniques/).
- To stimulate the eye nerves and strengthen the eye muscles, roll your eyes. Look up and then trace about 10 clockwise circles, followed by about 10 counter-clockwise circles and about 10 figure-8 patterns (note that this technique is not recommended for those suffering from vertigo).
- For more extensive eye training, follow the instructions for using the Tibetan Eye Chart pictured below.
Tibetan Eye Chart
- Place the Tibetan Eye Chart at eye level on a wall
- Sit back straight and move only the eyes, not your head
- Starting at the 12-o’clock position, slowly move both eyes clockwise from black dot to black dot around the outer circle
- Repeat in a counter-clockwise direction
- Again starting at the 12-o’clock position, trace from the red dot in the center along the outline of the left side of the spoke to its endpoint, around the black dot, and return along the right side to the red dot in the center
- Continue this process moving around the wheel in a clockwise direction, tracing all spokes (with and without black dots at the end)
- Repeat this pattern in a counter-clockwise direction, tracing the spokes from right to left
- Practice these techniques at close-up and far-away ranges, with and without glasses, once or twice a day.
4. To improve focus, close your eyes and use an index finger to draw Figure-8s around the eyes, either lightly touching or
just above the skin.
5. To break up and release energetic congestion and stimulate circulation in the eyes and the sinuses, tap along the
bonestructure around the eyes. Apply the miHealth to ER-40 (Paranasal Sinuses), if needed.
